22 February 2019 Two-day training for Long Term Observers was held

ENEMO International Election Observation Mission to Ukraine has organized the training for Long Term Observers on February 19 – 20 at the Hotel Ukraine in Kyiv.

During the two-day training, ENEMO Long Term Observers had the opportunity to gain more knowledge on their role and responsibilities, reporting guides and timeline, Code of Conduct, as well as on the political overview and key challenges in regard to the Presidential elections. Furthermore, LTOs were briefed on legal framework and election administration and law enforcement authorities.

Trainer were Christina CHEBES from ENEMO member organization Promo-lex and Kristina Kostelac and Mariam Chubabria, LTO Coordinators at the ENEMO IEOM to Ukraine.

The training covered following subjects:

  • The Declaration of Principles for International Election Observation and the Code of Conduct for International Election Observers;

  • Briefing on LTO tasks and reporting system

  • Workshops -

  • Security guidelines

  • Logistics and financial guidelines

  • Political overview

  • Media overview, disinformation and key challenges in regard to the Presidential elections

  • Political integrity and inclusiveness in the Ukrainian regions

  • Legal framework

  • Election Administration and law enforcement authorities

  • Main events in the election process and election calendar

  • Complaints and appeals

  • Key findings of OPORA Election Observation Missions and Q&A
