ENEMO held press conference to announce its Mission to Ukraine 2019
Kyiv, February 15, 2019 - During the press conference held at News Agency UNIAN, the European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations (ENEMO) presented its plans for the observation of the upcoming Presidential Elections in Ukraine.
Head of the ENEMO Mission to Ukraine 2019, Mr. Zlatko Vujovic stated: “ENEMO operates in full compliances with international standards for election observation. We will deploy our observers in order to contribute towards more transparent electoral process in Ukraine. All ENEMO observers have signed the Code of Conduct for International Election Observers. Objectivity, impartiality and trustworthiness of the information collected by our observers are the top priorities of the network.” Furthermore, Mr. Vujovic, added: “All ENEMO reports and conclusions which will be presented to the public will be based on the evidence and observers’ findings from the field, where they focus on the work of election administration bodies, registered political candidates, conduct of the election campaigns, election-related complaints and appeals and other election related activities”.
This is the eleventh observation mission of ENEMO in Ukraine. ENEMO launched its activities in January with the arrival of Core Team members to Kyiv. On election day, ENEMO plans to deploy 320 short term observers in total for both rounds to observe opening, voting and counting procedures as well as the transfer of protocols.
On the press conference on behalf of ENEMO were present Mr. Zlatko Vujovic, Head of the Mission, Teodora Pop Trajkov, Deputy Head of the Mission, Pierre Peytier, Election Expert and Maja Milikic, Press and Logistic Officer.
ENEMO’s international observation mission for Ukrainian Presidential Elections 2019 is financially supported by the United States Agency for International Development through the National Democratic Institute, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Kyiv and the European Union.
