Serbia - Center for Research, Transparency and Accountability (CRTA)
Center for Research, Transparency and Accountability (CRTA) is a non-profit, non-partisan, non-governmental civil society organization. With a vision of Serbia as a state whose citizens believe in democracy and actively participate in democratic processes, CRTA develops mechanisms that: inform, educate, mobilize, influence policies and strengthen institutions. CRTA engages both with the government and civil society towards strengthening democratic processes and ensures that principles of accountability, transparency and the rule of law are implemented in practice.
Since 2009, CRTA’s work has been focused on the establishment of innovative and practical mechanisms for citizens’ engagement in advocacy for an open and accountable government. With strong expertise in utilizing citizen outreach, ICT and research as effective approaches and advocacy tools, CRTA has established the credibility and recognition as a reliable partner to both civil society organizations and public institutions interested to foster civic participation, openness and accountability in decision making.
Through accurate, unbiased and consistent reporting on electoral processes, developments and irregularities prior to, after and on the Election Day, CRTA has been active in enabling active and informed citizen engagement in monitoring and oversight of the elections in Serbia since 2016.
